pregancy massage in camberwell
Pregnancy massage is one of my signature treatments.
Pregnancy is often a very special time, but it can also bring huge physical and hormonal changes. As your body adapts to support a growing baby, there can be extra pressure on the joints, ligaments and soft tissues. This can lead to low back pain, hip discomfort, pelvic girdle pain, restless legs, cramps, water retention, carpal tunnel symptoms, neck tension and general fatigue.
Massage during pregnancy gives your body a chance to rest, soften and feel supported.
It can help ease aches and pains, reduce stress and fatigue, support circulation and lymphatic drainage, and give you a much-needed moment of stillness. It is also a lovely way to connect with your baby and take time away from the constant doing, planning and preparing.
Pregnancy massage can be helpful for:

“I’ve been seeing Deborah since the start of my IVF journey and have continued treatment throughout my pregnancy. Most recently, she’s helped ease my third-trimester carpal tunnel symptoms and provided wonderful pregnancy massage treatments that have made a real difference. She’s incredibly knowledgeable and takes time to tailor treatments to exactly what I need. Thank you, Deborah.”

A place to rest, switch off and be supported
Many women keep going through pregnancy because they have to: work, family, appointments, planning, birth preparation and all the emotional weight that comes with it.
Pregnancy massage gives you a place to stop. The treatment offers both physical and emotional support. It gives your nervous system a chance to settle, your muscles a chance to release and your body a chance to feel less held and compressed.
The release of feel-good hormones during massage can support relaxation and calm, which benefits both you and your baby.
How is the treatment carried out?
Treatments are carried out in a comfortable side-lying position, with bolsters and cushions used to support your bump, hips, knees, shoulders and back. You do not need to hold yourself awkwardly in place. The treatment is adapted around you, your stage of pregnancy and how you feel on the day. Pregnancy massage is suitable through all trimesters, with pressure and positioning adjusted appropriately.
My approach
I genuinely love supporting women through pregnancy. As both an acupuncturist and massage therapist, I bring my clinical experience, hands-on skill and pregnancy knowledge into the room. I work intuitively, adjusting pressure as I go and responding to where your body is holding tension or restriction.
Some areas need gentle, soothing work. Other areas, especially the hips, glutes, lower back, shoulders and neck, may need more confident pressure. The treatment is never a set routine. It is tailored to you.
I am also always happy to share knowledge around pregnancy, birth preparation and the postnatal period as part of your care.
Postnatal massage
Massage can also be very helpful after your baby is born. Postnatal massage is tailored to support your recovery, ease sore muscles and help your body release the strain of pregnancy, birth, feeding, lifting and caring for a newborn.
It is not about rushing your body back. It is about helping you feel more comfortable, more rested and more supported as you recover.
